Red with black interior, small block/4 speed, 77,500 miles. Power windows and antenna. This is a sharp looking, head turning, excellent running and driving Corvette that I purchased @ 2 years ago as a nice driver and planned to restore and convert to 427 (I have a 68 427 engine), and keep the car. I have put about 600 miles on it during that time. I believe the mileage to be correct since the car had original suspension and brakes right down to the pads. Lights and guages work. Since I wanted a dependable driver, the following is what has been done in last 6 months. All parts and work mentioned are BRAND NEW. FRONT SUSPENSION is new, including, upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower bushings, inner and outer tie rods. REAR SUSPENSION has new composite mono leaf spring with fully adjustable control arms on original posi rear end. Monroe gas shocks all the way around. TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH: new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bushing, z-bar and linkage to clutch pedal, everything but pedal itself. New front bearing retainer and bearings in original transmission. New rear transmission bushing and drive shaft yoke with new joint. Shifter was replace with new OEM style Corvette shifter. BRAKES: NEW rotors, calipers and pads on all 4. Power brake booster and master cyl, included but not installed. TIRES are brand new. Engine was rebuilt shortly before I purchased and had moderate cam, Edelbrock intake, HEI, headers, chrome, etc and runs very strong. Has 69, 350 casting number. I was not concerned much with engine but replaced noisy gear drive with new timing chain, and put a new Edelbrock carb. NEW big block aluminum radiator. INTERIOR/BODY: new console, A pillar trim and weather strip, door panels, I don't like fit on door panels. Original passenger door panel is good. I have a complete weather strip set, not installed, waiting on paint decision. PAINT good, older base/clear job, has some chips, not faded, still shines, looks good. L-88 hood. New exterior door handles and rear tag bezel. Originally was Silver 986 over gunmetal 442. The front nose has had a repair at some point but seems to be mostly the lower valance. FRAME is solid with no signs of damage or repair. TOP is in good shape and damage free. No hard top. Fiber optic dont work, wiper door is missing linkage from actuator, wiper door is complete and not stuck. Heater was working but I planned to order new heater control and left it disconnected. ALSO HAVE FACTORY ASSEMBLY MANUALS, VACUUM MANUAL, OWNERS MANUAL AND EXTRA PARTS. 79,500 miles. November 4, 2008. |
